Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'disruptive work schedules' and 'unhealthy eating habits', the explanation of the specific problems caused by sleep deprivation is quite brief, focusing more on the causes than the consequences. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the negative impacts of sleep deprivation, such as cognitive impairment or long-term health risks, with more specific examples. The position is clear, but the depth of analysis remains at a general level throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'In addition to this', 'Furthermore', and 'To illustrate' to connect ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'this problem' and 'these can be tackle', which occasionally disrupt the flow. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, though the connection between sentences could be more sophisticated to improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'sleep deprivation', 'hormonal changes', and 'sustainable future'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'disturbing sleep cycle' (should be 'disturbed sleep cycles'), 'results into' (should be 'results in'), and 'set a fix working hours' (should be 'set fixed working hours'). These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('unhealthy eating habits are also affects sleep') and article usage ('As a individual'). Additionally, there are errors in verb forms, such as 'these can be tackle' (should be 'tackled') and 'although have difficulties' (should be 'although having difficulties'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and refining your control over complex structures will help you achieve a higher score.
