Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is limited. The problems mentioned, such as poor concentration and anxiety, are stated but not fully explored or supported with detailed examples. Similarly, the solutions are listed in a somewhat repetitive manner. The introduction is slightly confusing due to vocabulary errors, such as using 'ardous' and 'proper' incorrectly, which makes the initial position unclear. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments, ensuring each paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'In this fortcoming paragraphs' and 'Turning towarda solutions' are used to signal transitions, but the phrasing is unnatural. Additionally, the logical flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by repetitive sentence structures and unclear referencing. For instance, the conclusion repeats points already made without adding synthesis. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede communication. Words like 'ardous' (likely meant 'arduous' or 'difficulty'), 'deterimemtal', and 'excerise' are misspelled. Furthermore, the use of 'proper' in 'There are certain proper regarding lack of sleep' is incorrect, as it does not convey the intended meaning. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'anxiety', 'responsibilities', and 'alcohol', the overall control is weak. You should focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and practicing collocations to ensure your word choices are more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people did not concentration'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. For example, 'people should have to avoid' is redundant, and 'by drinking people do not get' is grammatically awkward. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs, before attempting more complex structures.
