Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 149 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While the essay introduces the topic and mentions potential health impacts, it fails to provide a comprehensive discussion of the problems or the solutions required by the prompt. The response is essentially an introduction followed by a very brief, incomplete paragraph. Due to the failure to meet the minimum length requirement and the lack of development in the arguments, the response cannot be awarded a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and the start of a body paragraph. However, the repetition of the introductory ideas in the second and third paragraphs creates a disjointed flow. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas effectively, and the paragraphing is not used to develop a clear argument. The text feels like a collection of fragmented thoughts rather than a cohesive essay. To improve, you should focus on structuring your response into clear paragraphs, each with a topic sentence and supporting details, using linking words to connect your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band score. There are some spelling errors, such as 'indiviudals' and 'manking minial', and some awkward phrasing like 'fluctuating your blood pressure'. The range of vocabulary is quite limited, relying on repetitive structures. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary and ensure that your word choices are accurate and appropriate for a formal essay context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. For example, 'lack of sleep have become' should be 'has become', and 'body does not recovers' should be 'does not recover'. There is a limited range of sentence structures, and the errors in subject-verb agreement are frequent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of control over basic grammatical rules prevents a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage would significantly improve the quality of your writing.
