Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays people keep complaining about the lack of sleep they are getting because today's generation is more into online technologies and don't have any idea of managing time and keep balancing their life's. After end up complaining not getting enough sleep. But were not able to understand that the main problem is in there lifestyle which they are following.
Firstly people should have their proper daily routine what things they have to do in their whole day, because people are not having proper scheduled routine that cause to the not balancing their day to day life. If people prepared proper routine start with early waking up doing exercise for over 1 hour having their breakfast on time then lunch and then dinner and going to the bed on time will give them a proper and healthy lifestyle. Leaving the junk food and start liking the hygenic foods which cand give them strength, energy, protein and power.
Secondly stop using there electronics gadget by which today's generation is going on a wrong path and not understanding what should they do and what not, because they spent there whole time in chatting with someone or watching online videos which are not at all helpful for them. They are not learning any good things, I can say from the 100% of people only 10% people are learning new things and using this as an advantage but remaining 90% people are not using this in a good way some people are misusing this and by which many people are been harmed by this so the gadgets should be used in a minium tie and for a proper use.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is uneven. You mention that lack of sleep is a problem, but you do not explicitly detail the negative consequences (e.g., health issues, cognitive decline, or productivity loss) as requested. Instead, the essay focuses almost entirely on solutions. The ideas regarding solutions, such as routine and limiting gadget use, are relevant but remain somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you must ensure that both parts of the prompt are given equal weight and that your arguments are supported with more specific examples or logical explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which provides a basic structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use transition words like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', the internal flow within paragraphs is hindered by awkward phrasing and run-on sentences. For example, the opening paragraph is a single, long, and confusing sentence that lacks clear logical links. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical way, and there is a lack of variety in how you connect your ideas. Improving the use of linking phrases and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms such as 'proper', 'things', and 'good'. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'hygenic foods' (hygienic), 'minium tie' (minimum time), and 'life's' (lives). The phrasing 'today's generation is going on a wrong path' is quite informal and lacks the precision expected in an IELTS essay. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to health and lifestyle, and work on using more precise adjectives and nouns to express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people is not having'), sentence fragments, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'After end up complaining'). Punctuation is also problematic, with a lack of commas to separate clauses, making the text difficult to parse. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and tense consistency.
