Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this technological era people are very busy with their work-life and the social-life in between they have to complete with the personal life also. I gonna elaborate some specific reasons that why people are not getting enough sleep.
To start with the first and fore most reason is the spending too much time on social media. For example the person is working five or six days a week around 8 to 10 hours per day. After getting home busy with the personal life and the chores and then the time is for the resting instead of the person is gonna start scrolling the social media and that is very bad. Why? because of its very time consuming activity once you started scrolling the reels on Instagram or chatting on Whats-app or Watching the movie and series on Netflix the person not gonna realize that where the time go and then person gonna sleep at late night in the taught of waking up early persons gets difficulties for sleeping.
To continue with this habit is going to increase day by day and then social media attachment is gonna give headache to a soul and if individual try to sleep early then find difficulties and anxiety of feeling out left alone. This way person can not sleep peacefully.
To conclude my taught in this there are so many ways about a lack of sleep or difficulties in sleep can treated like do not use your social media at night before one hour to sleep and also same things with morning. Make a schedule of your work or to do list in that make fun time or social media time 15 minutes to 20 minutes per day.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention 'headache' and 'anxiety' as problems, these points are not fully explored or supported with depth. The solutions provided in the conclusion are practical but could be expanded upon to demonstrate a more thorough understanding of the topic. The introduction is slightly off-focus, as it focuses on why people do not sleep rather than the specific problems caused by sleep deprivation. To improve, ensure each body paragraph clearly links back to the specific questions asked in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To start with', 'To continue with', 'To conclude'). There are instances where the logical flow is disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the discussion of social media and the resulting health issues. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the subject of the sentences. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic, informal language such as 'very bad', 'gonna', and 'fun time'. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'in the taught of' (instead of 'in the thought of') and 'can treated' (instead of 'can be treated'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic vocabulary and avoid colloquial contractions, which are inappropriate for this type of formal writing task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'person not gonna realize' and 'persons gets difficulties'. Sentence structure is often fragmented or run-on, particularly in the second paragraph. The use of 'gonna' is informal and grammatically incorrect in this context. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are frequently faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and eliminating informal contractions to achieve greater accuracy.
