Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a big controversial topic since last 25 to 30 years has marked that the people are more sleep deprived and they struggle to get enough sleep. This problem has become like a big global pandemic. Although there are many such reasons to this problem, and also there are obvious solutions to overcome it.
Nowadays, the lifestyle of people has become too time sensitive that one has hardly get time to rest. For instance, the daily chores like getting up early in morning, going to gym, do breakfast, reaching at office on time, cooking at back home after office and then family time. As a result people get obsessed with each other and sudden change in their behavior negatively.
The most common reason is the bad habits of people to stay awake without any obvious reason. For example, adults watch movie late night, playing video games by children, late night parties. If these things continue in their routine will disrupt their circadian rhythm. It may results in brain fog and other mental disease.
We can overcome this problem by having having at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night for adults and 8 to 9 hours for teenagers without any compromising. The night routine should be little quite without doing any brain stimulating activity like sports and watching movie. Stay away from blue light exposure and sleep in dark. Also, plan your daily routine in advance to avoid delaying.
In conclusion, We should accept the fast pace of this modern life, but by change in daily habits will make a significant difference and positively improve the sleep deprivation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by sleep deprivation and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the mention of 'brain fog and other mental disease' is a good start but lacks specific explanation or depth. Similarly, the solutions provided are practical but could be expanded upon with more detailed reasoning. The introduction is slightly disjointed, and the conclusion is a bit brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear examples or logical consequences, rather than simply listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices, such as 'For instance', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the transition from the list of daily chores to the conclusion about behavior is not clearly linked. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'obsessed with each other', which does not clearly relate to the previous context of daily chores. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using less common vocabulary, such as 'circadian rhythm' and 'brain stimulating', which is positive. However, there are also instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'big controversial topic' (a 'highly' or 'widely' debated topic would be better) and 'cooking at back home'. The repetition of 'big' and 'problem' suggests a limited range. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive, generic adjectives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'since last 25 to 30 years has marked that the people are', 'one has hardly get time', and 'It may results in'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
