Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention mental stress and frustration as consequences, these points are not fully extended or supported with deep analysis. The solutions provided, such as exercise and reducing screen time, are relevant but remain at a surface level. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a clear explanation or a more detailed example. The introduction is slightly confusing due to grammatical errors, which makes the initial position less clear than it could be.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and grammatical slips, such as the transition in the third paragraph: 'only when people can overcome sleep problems, by engaging physical activities...'. This sentence is fragmented and lacks a clear main clause, which disrupts the logical progression. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'pragmatic measures', 'dependency', and 'work-life balance'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'taking participate in' instead of 'participating in' and 'reeduced' (spelling error). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. To reach a higher score, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually accurate throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, the opening sentence has a major structural issue: 'In modern era, a significant majority of people face a dilemma over they have face difficulties...'. Other errors include subject-verb agreement issues and awkward sentence fragments, such as 'keep phones away from the bed' appearing as a list item without a proper verb structure. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
