Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the consequences of sleep deprivation and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as depression and aging, and the solutions like medication and yoga are practical. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the link between 'aging' and 'lack of sleep' is mentioned but not fully explored, and the explanation of how meditation works is brief. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples or explanations for each point. The position is clear throughout, and the structure is appropriate for a task of this nature.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first and foremost', 'Another solution', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of depression and the example of international students is slightly abrupt. Overall, the information is arranged coherently, and paragraphing is used effectively to separate the problems from the solutions.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'insomnia', 'psychiatrist', and 'asanas'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'various problem' (should be plural 'problems'), 'do everything deliberately' (which is slightly unnatural in this context), and 'get a deep check up' (which is informal). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express your points with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'This will results in' (should be 'result') and 'international students, have faced' (the subject 'students' is separated from the verb by a clause, leading to a slight error in structure). Additionally, there are minor errors with articles and pluralization, such as 'a proper routine that helps to do everything... on same time'. These errors do not impede communication but occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score.
