Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'mental pressure' and 'stress' as problems, these points are not fully extended with specific consequences (e.g., impact on physical health or productivity). Similarly, the solutions are listed rather than explained in depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main idea is supported by a clear explanation or a more detailed example. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the response remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Consequently', 'Moreover', and 'However' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'To explain that nowadays...' which does not flow naturally. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You use basic terms like 'poor' and 'bad' repeatedly. There are also several collocation errors, such as 'suffering with insomnia' (should be 'suffering from') and 'consult to doctor' (should be 'consult a doctor'). While you attempt some topic-specific vocabulary like 'insomnia' and 'caffeine', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles ('the' sleep, 'a' large number people), incorrect verb forms ('can solved' instead of 'can be solved'), and subject-verb agreement errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small grammatical slips will be beneficial.
