Nowadays many people complain that they have difficulties getting enough sleep. What problems can lack of sleep cause? What can be done about lack of sleep? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
In recent years, many individuals have expressed concern about their inability to get sufficient sleep. This essay will examine the problems associated with sleep deprivation and suggest possible measures to address this issue.
Lack of adequate sleep can have several detrimental effects on an individual especially on their health and cognitive performance. People who thinks a lot find it challenging to sleep as it would interfere. For example, yesterday I had a problem to solve and there were no solution, I stayed up all night thinking about it which made my productivity the following morning low. In addition, physical well-being is of paramount importance because it directly influence an individual's quality of life. For instance, Health conditions like Typhoid and malaria withhold rest and relaxation of the mind. Additionally, a considerable proportion of individuals give their concerns that lack of enough sleep leads to nutritional deficiency.
Solutions to this predicament is that there should be avoidance of caffeine late in the day as it will enable one to stay conscious at night To illustrate, students cosumes caffeinated drinks in order to be active at night so they could read for an examination. Consequently, substance like methampehetamine which workers in Europe ingest in order for them to work for two days without sleeping, should be avoided and banned. Furthermore, sleeping schedules should be instilled to children as this will improve their learning abilities. Another significant factor is treating long-term health conditions.
In my view, sleeping habits should be made compulsory and inculcated to people. Instead of taking stimulants and other substances, there should be adequate rest before continuation of job.
In conclusion, sleep plays a vital function in the body and it helps in our daily routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by sleep deprivation and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the impact on health and cognitive performance is mentioned, the explanation is sometimes vague or logically disconnected, such as the reference to 'Typhoid and malaria' as examples of sleep deprivation, which is factually confusing. The solutions section includes some extreme examples, like the mention of methamphetamine, which feels slightly off-topic or sensationalized rather than addressing common sleep hygiene. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is clearly linked to the prompt and supported by logical, relevant reasoning rather than anecdotal or extreme examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or awkward. For example, the transition 'Solutions to this predicament is that there should be...' is grammatically clunky. Additionally, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed; the jump from caffeine to methamphetamine and then to children's sleep schedules lacks a smooth logical flow. While the essay is coherent overall, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional misuse of referencing make the flow feel somewhat forced rather than natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are some instances of awkward word choice, such as 'give their concerns' instead of 'express their concerns' and 'instilled to children' instead of 'instilled in children'. The use of 'conscious' to describe staying awake is also slightly imprecise in this context. While the student attempts to use some academic vocabulary like 'detrimental effects' and 'paramount importance', the overall range is limited, and there are recurring errors in collocation that occasionally hinder the natural flow of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('People who thinks', 'it directly influence', 'students cosumes') and prepositional errors. Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with run-on sentences and missing commas, such as in the sentence 'Consequently, substance like methampehetamine... should be avoided and banned.' While the meaning is generally clear, these frequent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for subject-verb agreement and pluralization is necessary.
