Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While stress and overwork are mentioned as causes, the explanation lacks depth, and the consequences of sleep deprivation are not explicitly detailed beyond a general mention of 'overall health'. The solution provided is relevant, but the example regarding the 2014 camps in India is slightly vague and lacks a clear link to how it addresses the root causes of sleep deprivation. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the specific health or productivity consequences of sleep loss and provide more nuanced, logical solutions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To embark with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, some of these transitions are non-standard or awkward, such as 'To embark with the reasons', which sounds unnatural. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally weak, such as in the final paragraph where 'Unless take potential steps' lacks a clear subject. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'money minded', 'take sleep on time', and 'get feel free sleep'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly opaque. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'meditation' and 'lifestyle', the range is limited. To improve, focus on learning common collocations related to health and work, and avoid translating phrases directly from your native language, as this often leads to unnatural phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'Host of challenges are being confronted faced by the individuals', 'If they depressed all times', and 'One of the best solution'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors is high enough to distract the reader. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly before nouns.
