Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argued that satisfaction in job is more essential rather than earning a high income; however, others think that lucrative job is more significant since it provides financial stability. Although well paid income is necessary to survive in inflation, In my opinion, job satisfaction plays an indispensable role for mental and physical well-being of worker.
On the one hand, as inflation is increasing at an alarming rate, it has become very challenging to survive in a competitive market of inflation.
The prices of daily necessity goods is rising each single day, which makes it essential for an individual to earn high income for the survival. For example, In Canada, job shifting from basic jobs to lucrative jobs is quite common because the prices of grocery are significantly increasing after a short duration of time. Hence, having a job with high salary becomes a necessity in today's era.
On the other hand, job satisfaction provides an employee with physical and mental well-being. The workers have to spent most of their time at workplace thus it becomes essential that they do not have a lot of workload related to their job that causes mental pressure or physical exhaustion. For instance, in Toronto, young professionals give more emphasis to those jobs, which provide inner satisfaction. As a result, doing a job that provides satisfaction is helpful for personal well-being.
In conclusion, the well-paid job helps an individual to survive through the tough times easily during the boom period as it provides financial security. However, according to my perspective, job satisfaction is more important as it is not only beneficial for the mental health but also for the physical health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 2.0
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks about the problems caused by a lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the essay discusses the debate between job satisfaction and high income. Because the student failed to address the prompt entirely, the task achievement score is severely impacted. While the essay is structured as an argument, it does not respond to the specific question asked, resulting in a failure to meet the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to guide the reader through the argument. While the content is irrelevant to the prompt, the internal structure and flow of the text are coherent and follow a standard academic essay format, which prevents a lower score in this category.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary to express their ideas clearly. Phrases like 'indispensable role,' 'alarming rate,' and 'financial stability' show a decent level of lexical control. There are some minor collocation errors, such as 'well paid income' (should be 'a high income' or 'a well-paid job') and 'daily necessity goods' (should be 'daily necessities'). Despite these, the vocabulary is adequate for the task, even though the topic is incorrect.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'satisfaction in job' (should be 'job satisfaction'), 'The prices of daily necessity goods is rising' (subject-verb agreement error: 'are rising'), and 'The workers have to spent' (should be 'have to spend'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, though there are some issues with capitalization after commas. The errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score.
