Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the consequences of sleep deprivation and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as decreased productivity and the suggestion of workplace naps. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the link between phone usage and eye health is mentioned but not fully connected to the broader theme of sleep deprivation. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific detail, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or more varied examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear or repetitive. For example, the transition between the health consequences and the example of phone usage feels abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'problems,' 'lazy,' and 'tired,' and there are several word-choice errors, such as 'look fatigue and tide' instead of 'look fatigued and tired' and 'aware public' instead of 'raise public awareness.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a lack of sophisticated or idiomatic language. To achieve a higher score, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary related to health and workplace management.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('government should aware'), incorrect word forms ('efficiency of doing work will decline'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically regarding verb forms and sentence structure, to improve your control.
