Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as work pressure leading to anxiety and the suggestion of meditation or scheduling. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the impact of sleep deprivation could be explored with more depth regarding long-term health consequences beyond just 'discomfort'. While the position is clear, the supporting examples are a bit generic. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more specific detail or logical explanation rather than just listing several ideas briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Out of all the reasons', 'However', and 'Moreover', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and punctuation, such as the capitalization error in 'Meditation' and the awkward phrasing in the conclusion ('the abdiscussion'). Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the flow is generally easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'sleeping deficiencies', 'hustle and bustle', and 'natural remedy'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'affecting to this situation' (should be 'affecting this situation') and 'sleeping deficiencies' (a more natural term would be 'sleep deprivation'). The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'results into' (should be 'results in'), 'Employees often have seem to work' (incorrect verb form), and 'Secondly reason is' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and spacing. While the writer attempts complex structures, the control over these is not consistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
