Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact on mental health and physical well-being, and the suggestions of routine and exercise. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the claim that lack of sleep causes 'weight loss' is medically questionable and lacks sufficient explanation. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, merely restating the introduction rather than synthesising the main points. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced explanations for your arguments and ensure your examples are logically sound.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a logical flow from the problems to the solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'Along with that, Regular exercise'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'this issue' in the second paragraph, which could be more explicitly linked to the previous sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'hectic schedule' and 'daily routine'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'furious and annoyed' (which are synonyms) and 'oftenly' (which is not a standard word). The range is sufficient to communicate, but it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing would significantly improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('issues occurs', 'becoms furios'), incorrect article usage ('disturbed a health'), and punctuation errors (the comma usage in the conclusion). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy.
