Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era , Individuals often complaint about not getting enough sleep. Today will talk about the reasons why this problem is common .
From my perspective, first and foremost reason is technology . For example, during the covid time people got prone to mobile phones, television as well as computers. Moreover , children were attending school classes on phones as compulsion as whole world was closed there was no way to go to school . As a result, Children started using phone for playing games and keep telling their caretakers they are studying from You tube and all during night time however, they were playing games late night . Eventually, This thing is common now on. Students keep faking these things and misusing the priviledge for scrolling reels late night and playing pub g. They sleep around 1 or 2 clock unable to wakeup early next morning.
Secondly , the second reason is job . For instance, most of folks do work from home night shift . This is very popular among the gen-z generation .They want to do their job at night as , their eyes are not used to the daylight . Most of the time they are active during the night time. Resultantly, every youngster has eye glasses on because of increased screen time at night . At the end, they keep complaining their parents they didnot got enough time for sleep.
In my opinion, for this situation is youngsters have to maintain their schedule and adapt healthy lifestyles. So, they dont get prone to any disease because of lack of sleep. Although, technology has became crucial part of our lifestyles but we might cut down its use for only significant purposes . At the very end , we can live better life .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the impact of technology and night-shift work is mentioned, the discussion of the actual 'problems' (e.g., health consequences, cognitive decline, or productivity loss) is quite limited and focuses more on the causes themselves. The solutions provided in the final paragraph are rather generic and lack depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the specific consequences of sleep deprivation and provide more detailed, actionable solutions beyond general advice to 'maintain a schedule'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'At the end' and 'At the very end' are used incorrectly to conclude points. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing (e.g., 'This thing is common now on') is vague. While there is a logical progression from causes to solutions, the flow is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within and between paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of informal or non-standard phrasing, such as 'got prone to', 'faking these things', and 'pub g'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'priviledge' and 'didnot got'. The range is limited to common, everyday words, and there is little attempt to use less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions that would demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Individuals often complaint'), incorrect verb tenses ('technology has became'), and awkward phrasing ('every youngster has eye glasses on'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of complex sentence structures and the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevent the essay from achieving a higher score in this criterion.
