Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph confuses the 'cause' of sleep deprivation (workload) with the 'problem' caused by it, which weakens the logical flow. While the second paragraph and the solutions section are more relevant, the discussion remains somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that the problems identified (e.g., health issues, dizziness) are explored with more depth and specific examples, rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use transition signals such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some cohesive devices are used mechanically or slightly inaccurately, such as 'these practice' (should be 'these practices') and 'which would give them so much stress'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the link between the causes and the effects could be more tightly managed to improve the overall flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'competitive work place', 'leisure time', and 'work-life balance'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and minor errors in word choice, such as 'fast pace work environment' (should be 'fast-paced') and 'calm their selves' (should be 'calm themselves'). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. Expanding your use of collocations would significantly improve your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally hinder the flow, such as 'these practice will become' and 'these issues can be reduce' (should be 'reduced'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be highly beneficial.
