Student answer (Band 5.5)
Sleep at regular time is the mandatory process to complete the life cycle. Most of the individuals argue that they did not have enough sleep. I strongly agree with this view because people have busy schedules and busy lifestyles. Basically, lack of sleep causes several problems, such as dizziness and heart issues. These problems have some advantages and disadvantages. Maintaining a diet and balance in the lifecycle can control these problems.
On the one hand, lack of sleep is the main cause facing people nowadays. Firstly, excessive use of smartphones and laptops can destroy the mental health of individuals. Most of the population do work from home. As a result, they work late nights, and they have a heavy workload. Also, they connected with these devices for more than 10 to 12 hours. Because of this, people get not enough sleep. Secondly, they did not have a diet plan or any schedule for sleep cycles. Taking mobile phones at bed, which is a very bad habit for humans. It is very harmful for their health and the eyes.
On the other hand, we can fix these problems with gentle care and making a timetable for ourselves. The big solution is all family members should do the exercise every day. In addition, meditation and healthy intakes can change the sleep cycle. Furthermore, individuals can stop scrolling on their mobile phone screen while on bed. Doing exercise every day can make people get enough sleep, and they feel energetic and enthusiastic.
In conclusion, not getting enough sleep has several problems, like health issues and irritation in behavior, but making health concerns and strict rules can make humans better and energetic. This can help to reduce the obesity and make them enjoy their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, you mention 'heart issues' and 'dizziness' but do not elaborate on how sleep deprivation leads to these conditions. Similarly, the solutions are listed rather than explained in depth. The statement 'These problems have some advantages and disadvantages' is confusing and irrelevant, as sleep deprivation does not typically have advantages. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully supported with clear explanations and specific examples rather than just listing ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the one hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these markers is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between sentences is occasionally abrupt. For example, the link between 'work from home' and 'heavy workload' is clear, but the connection to the subsequent sentence about device usage could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'these problems' in the introduction, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'mental health', 'workload', and 'meditation'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'mandatory process to complete the life cycle' and 'healthy intakes'. The phrase 'making health concerns' is also unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary. You have a sufficient range to express your points, but the lack of flexibility and occasional inaccuracies in word choice limit the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'Most of the individuals argue that they did not have enough sleep' (tense inconsistency), 'they connected with these devices' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'Taking mobile phones at bed' (preposition error). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. To achieve a higher band, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and work on consistent verb tense usage and correct prepositional phrases.
