Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention productivity issues and laziness, the explanation remains quite general. The solutions provided, such as keeping a diary, are relevant but could be expanded with more depth or specific examples of how these habits directly resolve the physiological or psychological impacts of sleep deprivation. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear reasoning and illustrative examples that directly link back to the prompt's core questions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In recent times,' 'The best example,' and 'In the end,' which help guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the problem and the solution could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas flow more naturally from one to the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'productivity,' 'sleeping cycle,' and 'disciplined routine.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'problem cased' (likely a typo for 'caused') and 'labour work.' To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary. Avoid repetitive phrasing and focus on using words that demonstrate a more sophisticated understanding of the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'many problems arise' (should be 'many problems arise' or 'many problems arise'), 'for an instance' (should be 'for instance'), and issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. Some sentences are slightly awkward, which occasionally forces the reader to re-read. To achieve a higher score, focus on increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and prepositional usage.
