Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the problems caused by lack of sleep and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention screen addiction, hunger, and lack of physical activity, the explanations are brief and lack depth. For instance, the impact of these problems on health or daily functioning is not fully explored. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or logical consequences. The position is clear, but the overall development remains basic, which aligns with the descriptors for Band 5.5 to 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'However', 'Talking about causes', and 'To Conclude with'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'this issue can also be resolved'). The transition between the causes and the solutions is functional but lacks sophistication. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the logical progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on common phrases like 'getting enough sleep' and 'physical works'. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'hungry stomach' (should be 'an empty stomach') and 'feel sleeps issues' (should be 'sleep issues'). While the meaning is clear, the vocabulary is not sufficiently varied or sophisticated to demonstrate a higher level of lexical control. Focusing on more precise collocations and academic terminology would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently omit articles ('the', 'a') and struggle with subject-verb agreement, such as 'many reasons which leads this problem' (should be 'lead to') and 'people... gets usually fail' (should be 'usually fail'). Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent spacing around commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
