Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era, a group of people saying that they are having a hard time to get a 8 hours of sleep on daily basis.Their can be several reasons like busy work schedule, sickness. I would like to explain the possible reasons and how to solve this problem in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, due to inflation people have to do multiple jobs in order to bring bread and butter to the table. If they do not work more than 8 hours a day they might not fulfill their basic needs. They do not get enough time to sleep beacuse they have to work almost 16 hours a day. For example, if someone is working on a minimum wages for 40 hours a week will not be able to enjoy their life in better way, so they will have to do two jobs to make it happen.
Moreover, Nowadays youngsters are addictive to social media like Instagram , Facebook, Snapchat. They use social media till late night or they play video games till 2 am in the morning. They do not want to go to bed before finishing the game with their friends. This is a major reason to not able to get enough sleep.
On the other hand, Government should think about poor people and reduce the prices od grocery and other basic stuff, so they people do not have to work overtime to fulfill their basic needs. In addition to, parent should pay attantion to their kids and make a timetable to go to bed so they can get enough sleep.
In conclusion, I would like to say that lack of enough sleep is a big issue can cause so many problems like mental illness. Everyone has to try to get atleast minimum of 8 hours of sleep to live longer.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing the causes of sleep deprivation, such as long working hours and excessive social media use, and offering solutions, including governmental intervention and parental guidance. The position is generally clear throughout, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development of ideas lacks depth and specific support in places, relying on generalized statements rather than fully extended arguments. For example, while the economic pressure of inflation is mentioned, the explanation remains somewhat superficial. Furthermore, the first sentence of the conclusion hints at 'mental illness' as a problem caused by lack of sleep, which would have been stronger had it been integrated into the body paragraphs. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is arranged with a clear overall structure, introducing the topic, discussing causes and solutions, and concluding. Paragraphing is used, with distinct body paragraphs for causes and solutions. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical and faulty, as seen with transitional phrases like 'In addition to, parent should pay attantion'. Referencing and logical progression can also be slightly disjointed, and the introduction contains grammatical errors that disrupt the flow right from the start. Although the essay is coherent enough to follow without difficulty, the mechanical use of cohesive devices and occasional awkward transitions place this response firmly in the Band 6.0 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts related to work, social media, and daily habits. There are attempts to use less common items and idiomatic phrases, such as 'bring bread and butter to the table' and 'minimum wages', though collocation and word choice are occasionally imprecise. Spelling and word-formation errors are present, such as 'addictive' instead of 'addicted', 'beacuse', and 'attantion'. These errors do not impede communication, as the reader can easily grasp the intended meaning. Because the vocabulary is sufficient for the task despite noticeable lapses in control, a score of 6.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are notable grammatical slips throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues and preposition errors, such as 'a group of people saying that they are having a hard time to get a 8 hours of sleep on daily basis' and 'so they people do not have to work'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While these errors are frequent and noticeable, the majority of simple sentences are constructed correctly, and meaning is rarely obscured. This performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
