Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the problems caused by a lack of sleep and offering practical solutions. The ideas presented are generally relevant, covering productivity issues, workplace competition, and the impact of technology, alongside practical remedies like maintaining a consistent schedule and reducing screen time. However, some arguments in the second paragraph are slightly under-developed and difficult to follow due to linguistic strain, such as 'which may loose the chances of sucess'. Nevertheless, the writer maintains a clear focus throughout, and the coverage of the prompt is sufficient to meet the requirements of a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is structured into four clear paragraphs with an introductory statement, body paragraphs addressing problems and solutions respectively, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'First', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion' are utilized to guide the reader through the text. However, logical progression is occasionally hindered by faulty referencing and clunky transitions, particularly in the first two paragraphs where sentences like 'due this which lead the confiltcs' disrupt the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately overall, but internal cohesion requires better control, placing this performance at Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common collocations such as 'productivity and concentration', 'electronic devices', and 'reasonable working hours'. However, there are frequent spelling errors and lexical inaccuracies, including 'thesedays', 'preasure', 'peoper', 'sechudle', 'thay', 'diifficulites', 'competion', 'thaem', 'over work', 'whcih', and 'confiltcs'. These errors reflect a limited control of word formation and spelling, although the meaning remains generally decipherable. This aligns best with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to link clauses with conjunctions like 'although', 'because', and 'which'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the first half of the essay, featuring persistent errors in subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, and preposition use, such as 'most of individuals struggle', 'lack of sleep effect on productivity', and 'People who do not have peoper sleep they are unable to'. While the final two paragraphs show an improvement in structural clarity, the high frequency of basic errors places this text firmly at a Band 5.0.
