Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is true that sleeplessness is the major issue. A substantial number of individuals are suffering from sufficient sleep. Inadequate sleep can be responsible for various problems and it can be resolved by taking potential measures.
The difficulties faced by various people due to insufficient sleep are explained below. Firstly, If an individual is not taking enough rest, their body feel tired everytime, due to which, they can not fully concentrate. As a result, there productivity decreases. Secondly, due to lack of sleep, individuals gets irritated frequently, and they affect their personal and proffesional relationships. For instance, if someone has not taken sleep appropriately, he will stay frustrated, and that frustration would likely to be thrown at family members as well as at co-workers. Lastly, if someone is not getting enough rest, he could suffer from terminal illness such as, obesity, cardio-vascular diseases and so on.
There are several steps that can be taken to address this issue. First and foremost, the major reason behind lack of sleep is the intake of excessive caffiene, which means if a person drinks a lot of coffee, they are more likely to get inadequate sleep, because it creates a stimulant, which makes people more alert and reduce tiredness. Furthermore, people should avoid using phone while they are going for sleep, because once a person starts using social media, he lose the control over time. To exemplify, if I starts using phone during night, I spent hours, even though, my aim was to use it only for few minutes. In short, Screen time should be reduced.
To conclude, although there are numerous problems caused by lack of sleep, such as, heath problems, lack of concentration , I believe it can be cured by implementing the steps, explained above.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the task by discussing the problems caused by lack of sleep and suggesting practical solutions. The writer presents a clear position and supports ideas with relevant examples, such as mentioning obesity, cardiovascular diseases, excessive caffeine intake, and smartphone usage before bed. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or general, such as 'heath problems, lack of concentration' in the conclusion. Overall, the content is relevant and well-directed, fulfilling the task requirements adequately and demonstrating a clear understanding of the prompt. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is coherent with an overall logical arrangement, utilizing standard paragraphing to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Lastly', and 'First and foremost'. However, cohesion can sometimes feel mechanical or faulty, as seen in punctuation issues and run-on structures (e.g., 'Firstly, If an individual...'). Referencing is generally clear, but the progression between sentences occasionally feels abrupt. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, guiding the reader through the problems and solutions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'substantual', 'terminal illness', 'cardio-vascular diseases', and 'stimulant'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including 'caffiene', 'proffesional', 'heath', and phrasing issues like 'suffering from sufficient sleep' (which incorrectly implies they have enough sleep) and 'lose the control'. These errors do not impede communication, but they reflect a Band 6 level where vocabulary is adequate yet contains inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, with attempts at subordination and conditional structures (e.g., 'if someone has not taken sleep appropriately, he will stay frustrated'). However, there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'their body feel tired everytime', 'individuals gets irritated', 'if I starts', and comma splices throughout. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they indicate a lack of consistent control over complex structures, placing the response firmly in the Band 6 category.
