Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant causes—work, future and family stress, and late-night social-media use—and begin to suggest exercise and yoga. However, the task asks both what problems sleep loss causes and what can be done about it; the response mainly discusses causes, gives only a brief, unfinished solution, and does not clearly explain the consequences of insufficient sleep. The claim about serious diseases is vague rather than a developed explanation of specific effects. The introduction also promises to discuss “possible reasons and solutions,” not the full question. The response is 61 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to address and support all parts. Develop each part with clear explanations and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introduction, a paragraph about causes, and a paragraph beginning to discuss solutions. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “In addition,” and “Besides” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the overall progression is incomplete: the effects of sleep deprivation are omitted, and the final paragraph stops mid-sentence, so the response has no developed conclusion or completed solution. Some transitions are also awkward or do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas, particularly “To commence with the reasons for the question” and “Besides stating the solution to the given statement.” Use clear topic sentences for causes, effects, and solutions, then connect each explanation to its example and finish with a brief concluding summary.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “biological cycle,” “cortisol level,” “sleep cycle,” “social media,” and “physical and mental exercises.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the subject specifically rather than relying only on very basic words. However, several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “taking a so much stress,” “problems to get enough sleep,” and “this activity would destroy the sleep cycle.” “Cortisol hormon” also contains a spelling error, and “serious diseases” is too general to communicate a precise effect. Aim for accurate collocations and more specific terms, for example, describe how sleep loss affects concentration or health. This would make the ideas clearer and demonstrate more controlled vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if high cortisol level in humans, then they would not get good sleep” and a sentence explaining the effect of stress. However, complex attempts are often incomplete or difficult to follow. For example, “Although, in the present time individuals complain…” is not a complete contrast structure, and “if high cortisol level in humans” lacks a grammatical subject and verb. There are also errors in agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “this activities would help to people,” while the final sentence is unfinished. Use complete clauses, check singular and plural agreement, and punctuate long sentences carefully. Shorter, accurate sentences would help communicate your points while you build control of complex forms.
