Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the question: it identifies physical and mental consequences of insufficient sleep and suggests lifestyle changes, including exercise, healthier eating, meditation, and reducing nighttime phone use. The discussion of concentration and decision-making gives relevant detail, and the example about phone use and junk food helps illustrate one possible cause. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the effects on the heart and eyes are repeated, while the remedies are listed without showing clearly how they improve sleep. The opening also promises that solutions and problems will follow but does not establish a clear central position. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples to make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, moving from an introduction to problems, then remedies and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main sections, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Apart from this,” and “To conclude” guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence, “The solution for this causes are mentioned below with problems,” does not clearly preview the organisation, and the first body paragraph shifts between physical and mental effects before repeating the point about pressure on the heart and eyes. The remedies paragraph also presents several items in a list without developing their relationships. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around a distinct main idea, with references that make it clear what “this” or “these” refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “sleep deprivation,” “cognitive function,” “poor concentration,” and “sedentary lifestyle,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “detrimental effect.” However, several choices are unnatural or inaccurate: “plebeians” is unsuitable for ordinary people, “strain on body” is imprecise, and “effects” is used where the verb “affects” is needed. Spelling errors such as “challanged” and awkward combinations such as “disciplined lifestyle” reduce control. Aim for natural, precise collocations rather than unusually formal words; for example, use “people” or “individuals” and “physical strain.” Proofread spelling and distinguish commonly confused forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more complex structures, including conditional sentences (“If individuals do not sleep enough…”) and a relative clause (“which leads to confused mental state”). These attempts allow you to explain causes and consequences, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “Because recover from the stress… needs rest,” “it also have,” “these plays,” and “If a person will not sleep properly.” Articles and agreement also need attention, as in “an healthy meal” and “a crucial part.” Some sentence boundaries and punctuation are awkward, particularly the capitalisation after “As” and the long example sentence. Practise complete clause structures, subject–verb agreement, articles, and conditional forms, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
