Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify relevant causes, including workload, stress, family responsibilities and late-night device use, and you begin to illustrate the effects with an example about young people. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it explains possible causes, although the question asks what problems lack of sleep causes, and it does not develop practical solutions. The opening mentions diet, exercise and mental peace, but these are not explained or supported later. The example lists blurred eyesight, depression and low energy without clearly showing how sleep loss leads to each problem. The response is also 79 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop both parts. To improve, cover effects and solutions explicitly, explain each idea, and add relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction is followed by a paragraph beginning “Firstly,” and ideas are grouped around possible causes. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “For example” also show an attempt to guide the reader. However, there is no clear overall progression through the two parts of the question: the body focuses on causes, while the promised discussion of solutions never follows. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, as in “In a result,” and repeated use of “So” makes the sequence feel list-like. The final example also combines several effects without explaining their relationship to the preceding point. Use separate paragraphs for problems and solutions, and connect each claim to its explanation or example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “workload,” “stressed,” “responsibilities,” “electronic devices” and “depression,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts awkward or unclear. For example, “Many reason behind this” and “early age blur eyesights” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “continuesly” and “responsebilities” are misspelled. “Mental peace” is also vague in this context. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “several factors contribute to this problem,” “blurred vision” and “reduced concentration.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence that links device use to late-night activities and an example introduced with “For example.” However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “Many reason behind this” lacks a correctly formed subject and verb, while “stress cause of insufficient sleep” is missing a grammatical link. In “people have more responsebilities,” the article and plural construction also need attention; “stress cause” additionally requires subject–verb agreement. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and articles. More accurate control of these basic patterns will help you express longer ideas clearly.
