Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this day and age, the problem of lack of sleep has risen drastically in many people living across the globe. Some people argue that this issue is spontaneous, and it will correct itself over time. However, others believe that there are prominent reasons behind this problem and can be tackled by taking necessary steps to resolve the lack of sleep among people.
Many people complain that they have difficulties getting enough sleep. When people face the lack of sleep, they have to face some problems. If a person's sleep is not fully complete, they are not able to have a fresh mind. Lack of sleep can cause mental stress, instability and lack of peace in a human being. If a person go to work with lack of sleep, the work productivity would definitely be compromised. For example, as a student, I faced lack of sleep and during class, I was not able to grasp or learn anything as my mind was not fresh. So, there is no doubt saying that if people's sleep cycle is disturbed, they get to face many problems.
People who suffer from lack of sleep also suffer from the problems it creates. There can be some solutions that needs to be applied to overcome these problems. People who have distorted sleep cycles need to analyze and review thier activities. They need to create and maintain a daily time table or time sheet for their whole day, so to manage their sleep cycles. In this way, they will have more control over their lives and will avoid the lack of sleep. For instance, If I prepare a daily timeline for my all-day activities and set a time for going to sleep and follow it daily, it will help improve my sleep.
To conclude, lack of sleep has risen difficulties for people by creating a large number of problems. These problems can be resolved by people if they have a well-organized daily routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the question: it identifies effects of insufficient sleep, including stress, reduced mental clarity and lower work productivity, and proposes maintaining a daily routine. The student example about being unable to learn in class helps make one consequence concrete. However, the effects are not explored equally: “instability” and “lack of peace” are mentioned without explaining what they mean or how they affect daily life. The solution is also quite narrow, focusing mainly on scheduling, with little explanation of other possible measures or why the routine would work. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or example, and make the proposed response to the problem more specific.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to the problems, then solutions, and finally a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow this progression, and examples are placed alongside the relevant points. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, links between ideas can feel mechanical or repetitive: “People who suffer from lack of sleep also suffer from the problems it creates” largely repeats the previous paragraph rather than advancing the discussion. The opening contrast about whether the issue will correct itself is not developed later. Use transitions that show cause and effect, and ensure each paragraph adds a distinct step to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate to communicate the main ideas, and there are some attempts at more formal or topic-related wording, such as “work productivity,” “sleep cycles” and “well-organized daily routine.” Meaning is generally clear, but several choices are imprecise or unnatural, which limits the range and control. For example, “the problem of lack of sleep has risen drastically” is an awkward collocation, while “fresh mind” and “time sheet” do not express the intended ideas naturally in context. There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “thier.” Aim for precise, natural combinations and avoid repeating “problems” and “lack of sleep”; a wider set of accurate terms for consequences and remedies would strengthen the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex forms, including conditional sentences such as “If a person's sleep is not fully complete…” and a relative clause in “People who have distorted sleep cycles…”. Most sentences remain understandable, and errors rarely prevent the reader from following the argument. Some grammatical inaccuracies persist, however: “If a person go” should use a singular verb, “there are some solutions that needs” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “it will help improve my sleep” shifts from the hypothetical “If I prepare…” to a less consistent conditional form. The sentence “so to manage their sleep cycles” is also awkwardly constructed. Review agreement and conditional patterns, and vary sentence structures while keeping them controlled.
