Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, a growing number of people face challenges to get sufficient sleep. There are many reasons behind this problem. However, this issue can be solved by taking some effective measures.
If people do not get enough sleep, they may face problems with regard to concentration, which can affect their daily life tasks. Because if they are not active, the brain function does not work properly. For example, while working they can do errors in terms of calculations that can not only affect them but also the business growth. As a result, they may lose their jobs as well as if they can not maintain their focus on work responsibilities. Moreover, individuals may experience tiredness all the time, which can be barrier for them to enjoy their daily activities. For instance, if a person feel exhaustion, he/she can not able to play sports games with full of energy and also they may show less interest in the family discussions .
To solve this serious issue, people can reduce their screening time on the internet at night times as according to the science the light from mobile phone screens can reduce melatonin, a hormone that helps people sleepy. Therefore, people may avoid unnecessary scrolling on the social media before bed time. Moving further, they can set a fix routine for sleep. By doing so, their bodies can easily adapt to a regular sleeping schedule.
In conclusion, although many people in the world are facing this issue, it can be solved easily by a fix daily routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you explain consequences such as reduced concentration, work mistakes, tiredness, and less enjoyment of activities, then suggest limiting screen use and keeping a regular sleep schedule. The work-related example helps make one consequence concrete. The response therefore covers the task, but the two parts are not equally developed: the problems receive several examples, while the solutions are brief and focus mainly on individual habits. The conclusion also says the issue can be solved “easily,” which overstates the case without support. To strengthen the response, explain how the proposed habits help and add another practical measure, such as reducing caffeine or seeking medical advice when sleep problems persist.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on problems, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward: “Because if they are not active” is an incomplete connection, while “As a result” introduces a consequence that is not clearly linked to the preceding sentence. The long sentence beginning “For example, while working” also combines several points, making the progression less smooth. Use clearer links between cause and effect, and divide complex explanations into shorter sentences. This would make cohesion more natural and references easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss sleep and its effects, including “concentration,” “daily activities,” “regular sleeping schedule,” and “melatonin.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and the scientific term adds useful specificity. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural collocations and word forms, such as “challenges to get sufficient sleep,” “do errors,” “screening time,” and “a fix routine.” Some repetition of “people,” “issue,” and “sleep” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common word partnerships and choose precise forms—for example, “struggle to get enough sleep,” “make errors,” “screen time,” and “fixed routine.” More natural phrasing would make the vocabulary more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses (“which can affect their daily life tasks”) and conditional structures (“if a person feel exhaustion”). The overall meaning is usually clear, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction remain. Examples include “the brain function does not work properly,” “a person feel,” “can not able to play,” and “which can be barrier.” The opening “Because if they are not active” is also an incomplete sentence, and the sentence about losing jobs is structurally awkward. Review subject–verb agreement and modal patterns: write “a person feels,” “cannot play,” and “can be a barrier.” Building accurate complex sentences will help you express the ideas more smoothly.
