Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify possible consequences, including depression, anxiety, cardiac problems and reduced work productivity, and suggest measures such as improving work–life balance, limiting caffeine and seeking medical help. These are relevant responses and your conclusion reinforces the proposed responsibilities of individuals and employers. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the reference to skin problems and dark circles is not developed, and the recommendations would be stronger if you explained how they improve sleep or gave a specific example. The opening also shifts between “insomnia” and lack of sleep without clarifying that they are not always the same condition. Develop fewer points with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on consequences, one on solutions, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow, and phrases such as “In conclusion” signal the final summary. Within paragraphs, however, ideas are often presented as a list rather than linked through explanation. The health effects, productivity, recommended sleep duration and appearance are placed together without showing how they relate. Some connections are also unclear, such as “Comfortable sleep have a devastating effect,” which appears to conflict with the argument about lack of sleep. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example to its main point; vary linking expressions rather than relying mainly on simple sequencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “work productivity,” “sleep disorders,” “medical assistance” and “work and life balance.” These choices help communicate the subject, and some less common terms are attempted. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. For instance, “Comfortable sleep” does not express the likely meaning of insufficient sleep, while “working modules” and “allertness” are unsuitable or misspelled forms. There are also repeated references to “healthy” and “individuals.” Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague or awkward phrases with established expressions would make your vocabulary more flexible and reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with errors in agreement, verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “Comfortable sleep have” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “Depression and anxiety is observed” should use a plural verb. “They always looked tired” shifts into the past tense despite describing a general condition. Some sentences also have unclear or incomplete relationships between clauses, as in “Modern world and change in working habits impacted alot on sleep.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check that subjects and verbs agree and that tense remains consistent when describing general facts.
