Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the developing world, many individuals say that they are facing problems getting enough sleep. Lack of sleep can cause many difficulties, but here are some ways to solve this issue.
To begin with, there are several problems caused by lack of sleep. It can affect a person's health negatively. For example, if people do not get good sleep, they may feel tired and stressed during the day. Moreover, less sleep can reduce concentration and productivity. As a result, employees can not work properly and achieve their targets if they do not get enough sleep. Also, students can face difficulties concentrating and learning in their studies
On the other hand, there are some ways to solve this problem. People should follow a strict sleeping routine, as they should go to bed at the same time every day. Also, Individuals should eat dinner early to digest properly because a person can not sleep with a full stomach, and it is not good for health. Additionally, using electronic devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops, can interrupt sleep because it is hard to sleep when the screen is in hand. Employers should encourage a healthy work-life balance to get enough sleep. For instance, research shows that companies whose workers get proper night sleep grow faster.
In conclusion, consuming less sleep can cause health problems and reduce productivity, but by following a regular sleeping routine can help people to get enough sleep and also helps them feel energetic all day

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify health, concentration and productivity problems, then suggest a regular bedtime, earlier meals, reduced device use and employer support. These are relevant ideas, and the examples about employees and students help show practical effects. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, “affect a person's health negatively” is broad, and the claim that companies with well-rested workers “grow faster” is not developed or clearly connected to a specific mechanism. The solutions are also listed more than evaluated. The response is 2 words below the required minimum, so ensure you meet the 250-word requirement. Develop one or two effects and solutions with clearer explanation or a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on problems, one on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” make the main stages easy to follow, and the ideas generally progress logically. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some control of linking. To make cohesion more flexible and less list-like, connect related points through explanation rather than relying mainly on additive markers such as “Also” and “Additionally.” The transition “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the paragraph introduces solutions rather than an opposing view. Add the missing full stop after “studies,” and make the conclusion’s link between the proposed routine and the benefits more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “concentration,” “productivity,” “sleeping routine,” and “work-life balance.” These choices communicate the main ideas clearly, and the examples of employees and students give the response relevant vocabulary contexts. There are also some imprecise or awkward expressions that limit flexibility: “good sleep” is vague, “screen is in hand” is unnatural, and “consuming less sleep” does not express the intended meaning accurately. “Grow faster” is also broad in the context of company performance. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating “sleep” and “enough sleep” by using suitable alternatives such as “rest,” “sleep deprivation,” or “adequate sleep.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses (“if people do not get good sleep”) and a reason clause introduced by “because.” Most sentences are understandable, and grammatical errors rarely obstruct the message. Some issues remain: “by following a regular sleeping routine can help” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “a person can not sleep” would be more conventionally written as “cannot.” There is also inconsistent capitalisation in “Individuals,” and the sentence ending “studies” needs a full stop. To strengthen control, check that each sentence has a complete subject and verb, and review punctuation and capitalisation during proofreading. You could also vary clause structures while maintaining this generally clear control.
