Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to address both questions, but the response focuses more on possible causes of poor sleep—especially phone use and sedentary work—than on the problems that lack of sleep causes. The task asks for consequences, yet the only specific consequence mentioned is “anemia,” which is not explained and is not clearly linked to sleep loss. Your proposed remedies, such as limiting screen time, setting a bedtime alarm and meditating, are relevant, but their benefits are only briefly stated. The introduction promises to discuss “causes and solutions,” rather than framing the requested problems and solutions, and the conclusion does not summarise the main points. Develop clear effects, such as reduced concentration or mood changes, and explain how each solution addresses them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about technology and lifestyle, a paragraph of suggestions, and a concluding sentence. Basic signposting such as “First of all,” “In addition,” and “To illustrate” helps readers follow the broad sequence. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from phone use to anemia and then to sedentary work without showing how these points connect to sleep or its consequences. Some linking phrases are awkward or mechanical, including “In order to that” and “To Recapitulation,” and the final paragraph does not clearly refer back to the two questions. Use simpler, accurate transitions and organise each body paragraph around one clear answer, supported by explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “sedentary lifestyle,” “screen time,” “bedtime alarm,” and “meditation,” which helps communicate the general subject. There are also attempts at less common or formal expressions, such as “vital role” and “overcome this problem.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear: “put bad affects on their health,” “get rid from this problem,” and “relax themselfes.” Spelling errors such as “Techonology” and “epend” are noticeable, while repeated use of “problem,” “health,” and “help” limits precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for sleep-related effects and remedies, and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional structure in “if people can set alarm for their tasks, this will really help them.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently. For example, “health play” should have a singular verb, while “people often forgot” and “they faces” do not match the intended present-time meaning and subject. The sentence beginning “If I talk about young people” also shifts awkwardly into “they are addicted” and “they forgot.” Punctuation and capitalisation are uneven, as in “lifestyle.which” and “so that” after a full stop. Practise accurate present-tense sentences first, then add complex clauses while checking agreement and punctuation.
