Student answer (Band 5.5)
The problem of having enough sleep, which was always debatable has now become more controversial. Self-dependance, financial status and hectic schedule put people away from proper sleep ad rest. There are ample number of reasons behind this trend and can be solved with some adjustments and guidance. This essay will shed light on the reasons and solutions along with a conclusion.
To commence with, the most prominent factor is financial status. To explain with, to compete with this high end society people put themselves into rat race to show rich than others, which leads them into stress and it become a solid reason for their lack of sleep. Moreover, pressure to become successful and in life leads toward hectic schedules. Thus they do not have time to rest. They do not have time to socialize and share their up and downs. By this they become more aggressive which directly disturb their sleep because they overthink.
Shifting towards the solutions, First and foremost is money management. To elaborate this, People should know how to manage their finance and how to save. so that they never feel insecure financially. Along with this, individuals should know that success is not always a milestone, taking part and trying for something is also as important as success. They must learn from their mistakes while trying and do not attempt the same thing again and again.
To conclude, although financial status and successful life gives a good reputation in society yet, good physical and mental health are aligned with proper sleep. Mental and physical stability can be achieved by good and regular sleep.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response makes a relevant attempt to discuss the issue, but it does not adequately answer both questions. It focuses mainly on possible causes of poor sleep—financial pressure, competition and busy schedules—although the task asks what problems lack of sleep causes. Aggression and overthinking are mentioned, but the effects are not clearly explained or supported. The proposed solutions, such as money management and changing attitudes to success, are relevant to stress but do not directly address sleep habits or other practical ways to improve sleep. The conclusion restates the value of good sleep without resolving these gaps. To strengthen the response, explain several consequences, such as reduced concentration or health effects, and give specific, clearly linked measures for improving sleep.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph about contributing pressures, a solutions paragraph and a conclusion. This makes the response easy to follow at a broad level. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “Thus” and “To conclude” help signal movement between points. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “By this they become more aggressive” does not clearly identify what “this” refers to, and the shift from causes to solutions does not compensate for the task’s missing discussion of sleep-related problems. The opening also promises “reasons and solutions,” rather than accurately previewing the two questions. Use clearer referencing and organise the body around the task’s two parts: consequences first, then practical responses.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response attempts a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “financial status,” “hectic schedules,” “insecure financially” and “mental and physical stability.” These choices communicate the general subject, but several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Examples include “Self-dependance,” “put people away from proper sleep,” “show rich than others” and “up and downs.” There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “dependance” and “rest” where “sleep and rest” appears to be intended. Aim for precise, natural collocations rather than formal-sounding phrases: for instance, describe people as “under financial pressure” or say that a schedule “leaves little time for sleep.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There is some variety in sentence forms, including complex clauses such as “although financial status and successful life gives a good reputation in society yet…” and the relative clause in the opening. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “it become a solid reason” should use a past or present form consistently, while “pressure to become successful and in life leads” has an incomplete or malformed phrase. In “people put themselves into rat race,” the article is missing, and “which directly disturb their sleep” has a subject–verb agreement error. Punctuation and capitalisation are also uneven, as in “First and foremost” followed by “People” and “so.” Build accuracy by checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and simplify complex sentences when their structure becomes difficult to control.
