Student answer (Band 5.5)
Sleeping plays a crucial role in the lives of each and every people.Nowadays,a large number of people are complaining of their sleep difficulties. However, this was mainly affected by the hectic life style of people working under stress and strain.Mainly, this can be controlled by the healthy habits in their life.In this essay, I can state the problems and remedies of lack of sleep in a proper manner.
The first and foremost fact is that sleeping is considered as a basic life-saving equipment in a person's life.In this hectic life, most people are workaholic, and they have no time to think about sleep. It's because they are likely to create a positive impression in their work and physical life.As a result, due to work pressure in job, they flip into mental problems and lack of sleep. For example,my Uncle Ram worked at Technopark, Mumbai. Due to work pressure and lack of time, he didn't got enough sleep turns into Insomnia and mental illness.Secondly, some people are mentally weak due to many reasons such as life style and family members. Following this, they find remedy through excess usage of medicines related of hypertension and depression.
However, we can control sleeping illness through proper exercise such as meditation and Yoga.It helps people to overcome stress as well as strain in their work and family life.Basically, people need free time to relax and refresh their minds in a proper way. In the case of people living with families, need to spend their free times to go outings and workouts such as going to gym as well. Either people can practise breathing exercises in the morning and slight walking in the overnight.
In conclusion, nowadays many people have difficulties in sleeping. In my opinion, I can strongly state that it is caused by their hectic life style and stress and strain in their job profile.Either, it can be controlled by practising Yoga or breathing exerci

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify work pressure and stress as causes of sleep problems, and suggest exercise, meditation, yoga, relaxation and breathing exercises as responses. The example of your uncle gives the discussion a relevant personal illustration. However, the problems caused by insufficient sleep are not explained as fully as the possible causes: insomnia and mental illness are mentioned, but the effects on daily functioning, health or work are not clearly developed. Some points, such as people being “mentally weak,” are vague and need explanation. To strengthen the response, distinguish causes from consequences and explain how each proposed remedy could improve sleep, supporting the main points with specific reasoning or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph discussing causes, a paragraph offering remedies and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from work pressure to mental health and medication without explaining the links, and the first body paragraph focuses more on causes than on the problems asked about. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However” and “Either” are sometimes mechanical or do not express the intended relationship. Some references, including “this” and “it,” are also unclear. Use topic sentences that directly answer each part of the question, then order and link supporting details so each point follows logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “work pressure,” “Insomnia,” “meditation,” “breathing exercises” and “relax and refresh.” These choices show an effort to discuss causes and solutions rather than relying only on basic terms. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning less clear, such as “basic life-saving equipment,” “sleeping illness,” “workaholic” used to describe most people, and “in the overnight.” There is also repetition of “hectic life,” “stress and strain” and “proper.” Aim for precise, natural collocations and vary repeated wording. For example, describe sleep as essential for health, refer to sleep disorders, and use “at night” rather than “in the overnight.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, including cause-and-effect clauses such as “As a result, due to work pressure…” and a conditional phrase beginning “In the case of people living with families.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “each and every people,” “he didn't got enough sleep turns into,” and “people living with families, need.” The final sentence is also incomplete, ending with “exerci.” Work on forming complete clauses, matching subjects and verbs, and using past-tense forms correctly. Check punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries as well; these issues currently reduce clarity despite the range of structures attempted.
