Student answer (Band 6.0)

Sleep is the vital part of our 24-hours day. When sleep is deteriorated it gives many bad consequencies on human health and wellness. In this modern world, many folks complain about getting less sleep and there are various reasons and habits which are associated with this issue. Here, I will discuss some effects of bad sleep on health and give some suggestions which could help to get better sleep-cycle.

First and foremost, lack of sleep has direct effect on our metabolism which leads to many lifestyle related diseases like, dippression, cardiac problems, gut and digestion issues etcetra. Many modern science researches have revealed that less sleep could cause serious illness like 'Dementia', which affects human brain very badly.

Secondly, there are multiple reasons behind the difficulities of not getting enough sleep nowadays; stress, sedantary life-style, mental illness, lonliness, bad eating habits and more countless habits. Moreover, the leading issue is the over use of gadzets in daily life, now a days people spend more than one third of their time on screen out of 24-hours. There are many steps one could take for good sleep at night and the best is having an active lifestyle by doing exercise, yoga or breathing exercises, as back in the time people were living very active life which helps them to get dip sleep during after hours. As per my knowledge if person eats well, he or she could easily get better sleep at night and many doctors also backs these habit. Because of the state-of-the-art development in medical science, a sleep deprived person can take the consultation of a doctor and by the proper medication or therapy, it can be cured if the problem is severe.

To conclude, to be fit and healthy an adult requires 7-9 hours of sleep daily, but due to bad habits and lifestyle people tends to strugle to reach their sleep goals. In my point of view a person could easily get good sleep if they try to fix their lifestyle and adapt an active day.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify possible consequences, including depression, cardiac problems, digestive issues and dementia, and suggest exercise, healthier eating, and medical support. These are relevant ideas and your overall message—that sleep is important and lifestyle changes can help—is clear. However, the effects are listed more than explained, and some claims, such as the link between poor sleep and dementia, would benefit from a brief explanation or example. The response also spends substantial space listing causes of sleep difficulty, although the task asks what problems lack of sleep causes and what can be done about it. Develop the consequences and explain how each proposed solution could improve sleep.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two main body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Secondly” and “To conclude” help the reader follow the discussion. However, the second body paragraph combines causes, screen use, lifestyle advice, diet and medical treatment, so its focus becomes crowded and the progression is not always smooth. The phrase “there are multiple reasons” also shifts attention away from the task’s two questions. Some connections between claims are abrupt, particularly the move from active lifestyles to eating well and then to medical treatment. Organise the body around consequences and solutions, and use clearer links to show how each point relates to the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “metabolism,” “sedentary lifestyle,” “breathing exercises,” “sleep deprived” and “consultation.” These choices help communicate the subject and show attempts to use less common language. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, for example “consequencies,” “difficulities,” “gadzets,” “dip sleep” and “bad consequences on human health.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “more countless habits” and “many modern science researches.” Aim for standard spelling and more natural collocations, and choose precise terms rather than broad or awkward phrases. This would make your ideas clearer and give your vocabulary more control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which,” “as” and “if,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, however, particularly with articles, agreement and sentence construction. For example, “Sleep is the vital part” needs an article choice such as “a vital part,” while “people tends to strugle” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “if person eats well,” an article is missing, and “many doctors also backs these habit” contains agreement and number problems. The long sentence beginning “Moreover, the leading issue…” also joins several ideas without clear control. Review articles, singular/plural agreement and sentence boundaries, while continuing to practise complex structures.
