Student answer (Band 5.0)

In present days, as many people are having issues regarding not getting sleep properly, there can be many reasons behind it, to overcome having difficulty enough sleep we will talk about on mental health issues.

Firstly, nowadays it is quit common in people specially in adults, saying to their therapist that they are struggling to get good and enough sleep. Even though, their body demands for it. However, it has been quietly seen in youngster whom have left their home to built their our home and to make their future secure as well as bright. which in result they have to suffer through a lot of depressions and overthinks or worrying about themselves. They have scared and ended up having difficulty sleeping enough and disturbs their mental health negatively.

Although, youngsters might feel depressed or overthinking and disturbs their mental health, I myself who has experienced and went through it has a suggest to youngsters to how to get rid of lack of sleep, is slow down in life, they have enough time to make their life bright, not everyone achieves everything in their life, my therapist suggest me to take a long breath and start manipulate yourself by giving enough motivation, for instance, start telling yourself that you can do it and you can achieve everything and start talking positive to yourself.

In my perspective way, people who have lack of sleep issues, should have start taking care of themselves and should not be hurried in their to life achieve everything because life does not follow your path, A person has to make its own path.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the question to some extent: it links insufficient sleep with depression, worry and negative effects on mental health, then offers advice such as slowing down and using positive self-talk. The personal experience and reference to a therapist provide relevant support. However, the discussion is narrow and does not clearly explain a range of problems caused by sleep loss; the effects described are mostly emotional, and the advice focuses on motivation rather than practical measures for improving sleep. The opening also promises to discuss mental-health issues without clearly establishing the response’s overall position. Develop each part with specific explanations—for example, how poor sleep affects concentration or work, and what routines or professional support can help.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from an introduction to problems, then advice, and finally a concluding perspective. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “Firstly” and “Although” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are joined in long, confusing sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “However, it has been quietly seen in youngster” shifts from adults to young people and then to their worries without clear links. The final paragraph largely repeats earlier advice rather than drawing the points together. Use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, develop one idea at a time, and use pronouns and linking phrases with precise references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant vocabulary, including “therapist,” “depressed,” “motivation” and “mental health,” so the reader can identify the general topic. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make meaning less clear, such as “having issues regarding not getting sleep properly,” “a lot of depressions,” and “start manipulate yourself.” Repetition of “bright,” “life” and “sleep” also limits precision. Aim to learn natural collocations for this topic, such as “difficulty falling asleep,” “feel anxious,” and “establish a regular sleep routine.” Check word forms and spelling as well: “quietly” does not fit the intended meaning, and “quit common” should be “quite common.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts longer sentences and subordinate clauses, but these are often faulty, and sentence boundaries are not consistently controlled. For example, “which in result they have to suffer” is an incomplete and incorrectly formed clause, while “they have scared and ended up having difficulty sleeping enough” has unclear verb forms and agreement. The sentence beginning “Although, youngsters might feel…” combines several ideas without a clear grammatical structure, and the final paragraph also contains an awkward sequence of modal verbs. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and punctuation.
