Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions and maintain a relevant central idea: longer working hours linked to spending demands reduce sleep, while reducing demands may allow people to work less. The example of workers returning home late helps explain this cause. However, the task asks specifically about problems caused by insufficient sleep, and this part is only briefly covered in the conclusion through a general reference to negative health effects and stress. The proposed solution is also narrow and not fully explained; for example, you could discuss practical sleep habits or workplace changes. Develop the consequences and solutions with clearer, specific examples, and make your position more explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph presenting a cause, a paragraph proposing a solution, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to follow. However, some links are mechanical, and the introduction promises to discuss “both points” without clearly identifying the two questions. Connections within sentences can also be confusing, as in “they have to work more hours which and they reach home late.” The conclusion repeats the idea of reduced demands rather than drawing together the specific problems and solutions. Use clearer links between cause, consequence, and response, and ensure each paragraph develops one distinct part of the task.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “working hours,” “sleeping cycle,” “demands,” and “stress,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “To elaborate” and “Consequently.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts difficult to understand. For example, “get enough space” does not clearly express getting enough sleep, while “big incline in daily basic needs” is an awkward way to describe rising expenses or demands. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “sailent,” “genration,” and “fullfill.” Build a more precise set of topic-related expressions and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “if people would decrease their demands” and cause-and-effect clauses. These attempts show some range, but complex structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “people these spent much more money” has an incorrect sentence structure, and “they have to work more hours which and they reach home late” contains a faulty clause connection. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “its could be possible” and the comma spacing in “In conclusion, increase.” Practise forming accurate conditional sentences and joining clauses with one clear grammatical structure at a time.
