Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is true that most of the individuals are facing difficulty to get proper sleep due to more busy lifestyle and spend time on electronic gadgets. Although people can suffer fatal disease due to lack sleeping, i believe that people should attention on this problem.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why people have difficulties to get enough sleep. First and foremost, in modern era, people are more busy in their life due to more competition in every fields that is why they spend more time in front of screen which harms their health and eyesight because they suffer from obesity, heart disease as they need to sit long time. In addition to it, people spend most of time on electronic device when they are free which put adverse impact on their mental health because they may suffer from stress, depression as a consequence, it effects on their sleeping.

On the other hand, people should take an effective steps to minimise this issue. First of all, people need to go bed early and avoid use mobile phone before taking sleep therefore, they may feel mind fresh and take enough sleep. Along with this, they should focus on healthy diet including nutrients, calcium and vitamins rather than eating fast food which give proper energy. Apart from it, individuals ought to focus not only on outdoor activities but also exercise in their leisure time instead of playing computer games . To illustrate, when they go outside to play outdoor games, they have an opportunities to meet new people and get fresh environment which helps them to take better sleep.

To conclude, while busy lifestyles and spend time on technology are main root of this problem, i believe that people should more attention on their health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question by identifying possible effects of poor sleep and suggesting ways to improve sleep. The response also gives a clear general view that the issue deserves attention. However, the effects are not always linked directly to lack of sleep: obesity and heart disease are presented mainly as consequences of screen use and sitting, while stress and depression are said to affect sleep rather than clearly result from sleep loss. The solutions—going to bed earlier, avoiding phones, eating well and exercising—are relevant, but their benefits are only briefly explained. Develop the consequences of insufficient sleep more explicitly, and support each main point with a clearer explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on possible actions, and a conclusion. The contrast between the two main body paragraphs is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First and foremost,” “In addition to it,” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by long sentences that combine several ideas, and some links are unclear—for example, the discussion moves from screen use to obesity and heart disease without a clear connection to sleep loss. Some transitions also feel mechanical. Organise each paragraph around a central point and use clearer references and cause-and-effect links to connect supporting details.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “electronic gadgets,” “mental health,” “stress,” “depression,” “healthy diet,” and “outdoor activities.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “adverse impact” show an attempt to use more formal language. However, several word combinations and forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “fatal disease due to lack sleeping,” “more busy lifestyle,” “take an effective steps,” and “get fresh environment.” Repetition of general terms such as “people,” “sleep,” and “problem” also limits precision. Build a bank of natural collocations for sleep and health, and check whether each chosen phrase fits its context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, using clauses with “because,” “which,” and “when” to explain reasons and results. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms occur across the response. For example, “people are facing difficulty to get” and “people should attention” have incomplete or incorrect patterns, while “they have an opportunities” shows a number-agreement error. Some sentences also run several clauses together, as in the explanation beginning “In addition to it,” making relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate verb patterns, articles, singular and plural forms, and punctuation, then divide long sentences where needed.
