Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Rohan,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter to advise you on your further studies of environmental management.

The course offers you seven subjects including how to collect a sample from the type of land or water to lab procedure and how to generate and study report. Moreover, this course can provide the option of job that you can choose to work from home, on field or hybride.

I found that there are only few university which provide this course in one year duration when I researched it before I have chosen this course from Ottawa university. The main benefit of studying the same course from Ottawa university is it enables the woods region of both Qubec and Ontario. These regions help you to get study in various untouched land and water samples.

Ottawa university has the simple way to apply for course which begins in June every year. You can apply from the website choose the environmental management and assessment and upload curriculm Viate.

If you anay further confusion, just let me know and I will help you.

Best wishes,

Ramji

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you describe the course content and duration, explain the university’s regional study opportunities, and give application guidance. The details about collecting land or water samples and studying them in a laboratory make the course relevant, while the June application timing is useful. However, some points are not fully clear or developed. For example, “the main benefit” is followed by an unclear explanation about how the university “enables the woods region,” and the advice to apply through the website could be more specific about documents or steps. The friendly opening and closing suit a letter to a friend. To strengthen the response, explain the university’s advantages more directly and expand the practical application advice.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with its purpose, then discusses the course, the university, and how to apply before closing warmly. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these main topics, and transitions such as “Moreover” and “The main benefit” signal relationships between ideas. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. The shift from course subjects to job options is abrupt, and the sentence about the university and the “woods region” does not make the relationship between the institution and the study locations easy to follow. The application instructions also run together in one sentence. Use clearer links between related details and separate the application steps so the progression feels more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the subject, including “environmental management,” “lab procedure,” “field,” and “samples,” and the reader can generally understand the intended message. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “untouched land and water samples.” However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts of the letter difficult to interpret: “option of job,” “enables the woods region,” “curriculm Viate,” and “anay further confusion.” Some terms are also imprecise, such as “generate and study report.” Aim for natural combinations and check spelling, especially in key application terms. More accurate phrasing would make your useful course and university details clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “subjects including how to collect a sample” and the conditional-style description of work options. The main message is usually understandable, and the letter includes a range of sentence purposes. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “there are only few university” needs an article and plural agreement, while “when I researched it before I have chosen” mixes verb forms awkwardly. The application sentence beginning “You can apply from the website” also needs clearer grammatical links between its instructions. Review article use and keep past-time narration consistent; these changes would improve accuracy without sacrificing sentence variety.
