Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, explaining why you recommend the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the course name and duration, the description lacks detail regarding the curriculum or the nature of the study. Similarly, the advice on how to apply is a bit generic. To improve, try to expand on your personal experience with the course content and provide more specific, step-by-step guidance for the application process to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and punctuation errors, such as the spacing before commas and the inconsistent capitalization of 'Samestar'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between the university's reputation and the job placement benefits feels slightly disjointed. Improving your use of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure will help your writing feel more natural and cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points effectively. You use some topic-specific terms like 'placement job', 'MNC Company', and 'admission'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'samestar' (semester), 'complate' (complete), and 'decesssion' (decision). Additionally, some phrasing is unnatural, such as 'I am writing to letter about you applying'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling, as these errors occasionally distract the reader from your message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this university have a good reputation'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'I take the admission'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to impede the flow of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
