Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the course is in computer science, you could have provided more specific details about the modules or the learning experience to make the advice more helpful. Similarly, the advice on how to apply is quite brief. To reach a higher band, aim to expand on your points with more descriptive language and personal insights.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the course details, university benefits, and finally the application process. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'Because of its repuation' starting a new sentence. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as 'You're a excellent student, You can apply for scholarship.' Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use some idiomatic expressions like 'in the pink of health', although this is slightly unusual in this specific context. There are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'gain theoretical and practical knowledge in this course about information technology' and 'do a registration'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. Focusing on collocations—words that naturally go together—will help you sound more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally distract the reader. For instance, there are issues with article usage ('a details', 'the similar course'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (comma splices like 'You're a excellent student, You can apply for scholarship'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Working on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small grammatical slips will significantly improve your accuracy.
