Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas could be developed further. For instance, while you mention the course duration and internship, adding a personal reflection on why you enjoyed the course would have made the recommendation more persuasive. The response is well-structured and clearly answers the prompt, meeting the requirements for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use basic cohesive devices like 'However', 'Another way', and 'In their out patient department' to link ideas. While the flow is generally good, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different requirements of the task. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'the classes', 'this course') is consistently clear throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'informed decision', 'counselling process', and 'internship period'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'grade value' (likely meaning 'reputation' or 'academic standing') and 'equipments' (which is an uncountable noun). Additionally, 'faculties' is often used to refer to the teaching staff, but 'lecturers' or 'professors' is more precise in this context. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, though it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('The university provide', 'The classes belongs') and article usage ('many University', 'in detailed'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization. Your control over sentence structure is generally functional, but increasing the variety of complex sentences while maintaining accuracy would help elevate your score.
