Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, when mentioning the 'nine subjects' or the 'reputation' of the university, you could have provided more specific details or personal anecdotes to make the advice more helpful and engaging. The response covers the requirements, but the depth of information is basic. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more descriptive language or specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'To begins with' (though this is grammatically incorrect) and 'Moreover' to transition between points. However, the flow is sometimes interrupted by mechanical errors in phrasing. The use of referencing is generally clear, and the overall structure is logical. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your transitions are grammatically sound to make the progression of ideas smoother and more professional.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'clinical', 'on-demand', and 'opportunities'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices or collocations, such as 'bookish knowledge' (which is not standard in this context) and 'give the good pay'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, try to learn common collocations related to education and career advice, and focus on using more natural-sounding phrases rather than literal translations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'This course have total of 9 subjects' (subject-verb agreement), 'the university that give you' (relative clause error), and 'To begins with' (incorrect verb form). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To achieve a higher band, you need to pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, and the correct formation of complex sentence structures. Proofreading for these basic errors would significantly improve your score.
