Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing the course, recommending the university, and explaining the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention the course duration and subjects, adding a personal reflection on why you found them valuable would have strengthened the response. Similarly, the advice on the application process is clear but could be more detailed to fully satisfy the 'well-developed' requirement for higher bands. Overall, the response is relevant and covers all parts of the prompt effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each requirement, and a closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'So', 'Once', and 'To apply for', which help the flow of information. However, the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more refined. For example, the second paragraph is quite dense and could be split to separate the course details from the faculty information. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed due to limited use of varied linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'competitive package', 'flexible schedule', and 'knowledgeable'. There are some minor word-choice errors, such as 'you are need' instead of 'you need' and 'there are high chance' instead of 'there is a high chance'. Additionally, 'big companies finds' contains a subject-verb agreement error. While you successfully communicate your message, the vocabulary is somewhat functional and lacks the precision or idiomatic flair required for higher bands. Improving your control over collocations will help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Once you complete your course... there are high chance'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text, including article usage ('the faculties', 'the university'), pluralization ('subjects like Finance and Economics'), and verb tense/agreement ('you will be learning', 'companies finds'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are noticeable and occur regularly. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
