| Criterion | Band |
|---|---|

| Lexical Resource | 5.5 |
| Grammatical Range and Accuracy | 5.5 |
| Overall | 5.5 |
Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all three bullet points: it mentions the course, provides reasons for recommending the university, and gives application advice. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The details provided are quite brief; for example, the description of the course and the facilities is very superficial. To achieve a higher band, you need to expand on your points by providing more specific examples or explanations. Because the response is well under the required length, it cannot be awarded a higher score for task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a basic structure with an opening and closing. However, the paragraphing is insufficient, and the flow between ideas is somewhat disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited, relying on simple connectors. The transition between the course description and the application advice is abrupt. To improve, you should use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') to connect your sentences and ideas more logically, and ensure that each main point is developed in its own paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which restricts your ability to convey ideas with precision. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'verity of facilities' (likely meaning 'variety') and 'enrolment yourself' (should be 'enrolling yourself'). The range of vocabulary is limited to everyday, simple terms. To improve, you should focus on using more varied and precise vocabulary related to university life and academic processes. Expanding your range of collocations and ensuring correct word forms will help you move into a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'happy for to you are thinking', 'Evan i had friends', and 'go With wwwpbuni.com website'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and correct preposition usage. Proofreading your work for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms will significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
