Dear Meghana,

I hope you are doing well! It's been a long time since we last spoke. I just wanted to write to tell you about the Business Management course that you are planning to undertake from my university. I would suggest you to go ahead and pick the same course as the fees in my university is quite reasonable and also the faculties conduct the classes online majority of the times which gives us time for completing our assignments. To begin with, my university gives you flexible timings for various courses which can help in making your day-to-day schedule convenient. Moreover, they also help you to land an internship opportunities to work with multinational companies which helps in building your resume. There are bi-weekly tests conducted to challenge your knowledge and improve your skills. University also gives various discounts to their students on selected brands for a year.

I would suggest you to apply for the course online before the current term ends as the slots are filled quickly. You can also visit the administrative office from Monday to Friday between 10-4 p.m. to fill the form physically.

Anyways that's all for now. Write back soon and let me know how you're doing. I can't wait to hear from you soon.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0

The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points: it provides details about the Business Management course, explains the benefits of the university, and offers clear advice on the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of the task. The response is well-structured, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning. No parts of the prompt were omitted, and the information provided is consistent and logical.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing specific points, and a natural closing. The use of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Anyways' helps to guide the reader through the text. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the different topics requested in the prompt. While some transitions are standard, they are used accurately and contribute to the overall flow of the letter. The progression of ideas is smooth, and the relationship between the paragraphs is clear.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

The vocabulary is generally appropriate for the task, with a good range of terms related to university life and administration, such as 'multinational companies', 'administrative office', and 'internship opportunities'. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'faculties' (which usually refers to the teaching staff, whereas 'lecturers' or 'professors' might be more precise) and 'majority of the times' (which is slightly awkward phrasing). However, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly and naturally throughout the letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

The letter demonstrates a good control of grammar with a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some minor errors, such as 'the fees in my university is' (subject-verb agreement: should be 'are') and 'land an internship opportunities' (article/pluralization error: should be 'land internship opportunities'). Despite these occasional slips, the meaning is never obscured, and the punctuation is generally accurate. The use of modal verbs like 'would suggest' and 'can help' is handled well, showing a good grasp of functional language.
