Dear Mihir,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to express the useful information regarding the same course which I enrolled alongside the university registration process.
To begin with, the course which I opted is Big Data Analytics. In this course, you will be inculcated about omnipresent methods of data analysis. Apart from this, you will be asked to train a model which aids to investigate the huge database within the fraction of second as an internal project.
However, the university campus offers several fruitful utilities such as practical laboratory, library, break room, latest technology equipped classrooms and personal tutor for extra guidance. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a friend, although some phrasing is slightly formal or unnatural. The ideas are relevant, but the development could be more detailed. For instance, explaining why the 'Big Data Analytics' course was personally beneficial would have added more depth. Overall, the response covers the requirements well, though the expression of ideas occasionally lacks the natural flow expected in a personal letter.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Apart from this', and 'Additionally' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, such as 'I am writing to express the useful information'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for a letter format. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words that sound more natural in a friendly correspondence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, including terms like 'inculcated', 'omnipresent', and 'fruitful utilities'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. For example, 'express the useful information' is not a standard collocation, and 'inculcated about' is grammatically incorrect in this context. 'Handy to get job' is also informal and imprecise. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, the lack of precision in some areas prevents a higher score. Focus on learning how these words are typically used in natural English sentences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'the course which I opted is' (should be 'opted for'), 'within the fraction of second' (missing article), and 'When it comes to apply' (should be 'applying'). Additionally, 'I am writing to express the useful information' is grammatically awkward. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Increasing your control over prepositions and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
