Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed. For instance, while you mention the curriculum is well-organised, you could have provided a specific example of a module or subject to make the recommendation more persuasive. Additionally, the explanation of the application process is a bit vague in places, such as the mention of 'e-form'. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively, and the purpose of the letter is clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'In addition to', which help the flow of ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'The university from where I finished...'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different topics. To reach a higher band, ensure that referencing is smoother and that the connection between sentences is more natural rather than relying on simple linking words. Overall, the message is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'curriculum', 'educational excursions', and 'remedial classes'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I got buy assistance' (likely meant 'got good assistance' or 'received support') and 'Government-sponsered school' (spelling error). Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'distribution of curriculum'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage and better attention to spelling and common collocations to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I hope you doing well' (missing auxiliary verb), 'a course is finished' (incorrect relative clause), and 'you are suppose to fill' (missing 'd' on supposed). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around question marks and commas. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms in passive constructions, and proofreading for minor slips.
