Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the course is an 'Associate of arts program', you could have provided more specific details about the curriculum or the academic environment to make the advice more helpful. The advice on how to apply is also quite vague, focusing more on the benefits of the subjects rather than the actual application process (e.g., deadlines, documents, or online portals). To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with specific, relevant details.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Commencing with', 'Also', and 'In order to'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'it' in 'it relate with my previous studies', where the antecedent is not immediately obvious. Improving the variety of your cohesive devices would enhance the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'Associate of arts program', 'Human Resources', and 'internship'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'suggest the selection of subjects' instead of 'recommend specific subjects', and 'apply well paid job' instead of 'apply for a well-paid job'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more natural phrasing for academic and professional contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement. Examples include 'I choose' (should be 'chose'), 'it relate' (should be 'it relates'), and 'that will also helps you' (should be 'that will also help you'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors, such as missing commas in complex sentences. The errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. Increasing your control over basic grammatical structures will significantly improve your score.
