Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Tasneem,
I hope you are doing very well. I was glade after knowing your interest to enroll in the same course which I have finished.
As you know I have finished Master of Business Administration. This is business course, people often choose this subject who want to organize business in market. This course is about how to develop business, gain profits, manage employees, and work.
I wanted to pursue my career in business field at University Canada West in order to set up my own business. After completing this course I tried to apply for a job in the international company. I was possible only through that university, because while studying this my professors assisted all their students for internship in real company. It was great opportunity for me to obtain experience. That is why, I would like to you to do this program from this university.
There are few very easy steps that you need to follow in order to apply. The college has their own website where you need to fill-up you personal info, and some essential documents.
Thank you to considering me as your guide. I am here if you have any question and confusion about that.
Best regards,
Tabassum.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You provided details about the MBA course, explained why you recommend the university, and gave advice on the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of the application process is quite brief and lacks specific details that would make the advice more helpful. To improve, try to expand on your personal experiences or provide more concrete steps for the application, such as mentioning specific documents or deadlines, to fully develop your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'As you know', 'That is why', and 'There are few'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the use of linking words could be more varied to improve the natural progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different topics. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices to connect your ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple transitions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'pursue my career', 'internship', and 'enroll'. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'I was glade' instead of 'I was glad' and 'work' used vaguely in the context of the course description. Additionally, 'fill-up you personal info' is slightly informal and contains a grammatical error. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, incorporating more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I was possible only through that university' (should be 'This was possible'), 'I would like to you to do' (should be 'I would like you to do'), and 'Thank you to considering' (should be 'Thank you for considering'). These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage to improve accuracy.
