Dear .................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Gianna,
I am writing this letter to inform you about a master degree that I took already and give you advice about this course as per your request.
As I know you are a tech individual. You have an interest in computer science. I completed a master degree in Cybersecurity. Rightnow in cybersecurity there are sortage of people and in the near future demand will arise. So it will help you financial but for that you have to complete this degree with a nice percentage so, you can directly hired for the university.
I am recommending my univiersity because I know the Instructor in this subject is very educated and also an ex ciber police. He spent 30 years as ciber officer in law enforcement.
To apply for this course you have should have your documents ready like, marksheets, birth certificate, ID proof etc. You have to simply log in the university student portal and apply for that programme.
I hope you will find your acceptance letter soon if you need any help let me know.
Best regards,
krish

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points: it describes the Cybersecurity course, explains why the university is recommended, and provides application advice. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the advice on how to apply is quite generic, and the explanation of the course benefits could be more detailed to better persuade a friend. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a friend, though it occasionally feels a bit formal or disjointed. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more descriptive language or personal insight to fully satisfy the requirements of a Band 7 or higher.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, such as the jump from discussing the course to the recommendation of the instructor. While the overall progression is clear, the letter would benefit from a wider range of linking words and better sentence-to-sentence flow to move beyond a Band 6. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety to improve the overall readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors, such as 'univiersity', 'ciber', and 'sortage', which are distracting. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'tech individual' or 'nice percentage'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of spelling mistakes limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology related to university applications and academic study, and proofread carefully to eliminate basic spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'I completed a master degree' (missing 'a'), 'demand will arise' (awkward phrasing), 'you can directly hired' (incorrect passive voice), and 'you have should have' (incorrect modal usage). These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the flow of the text. While the meaning remains understandable, the lack of control over basic grammatical structures and the frequency of errors prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
